Digital access is no longer optional—it’s essential for education, employment, healthcare, and civic participation. Still, the Bronx faces the largest digital divide in NYC, with a quarter of Bronx families living without broadband internet at home.

In an article by the Gothamist, Bronx Community Foundation co-founder, Derrick Lewis captures the urgency: “Everything we do every single day is digitally aware and digitally enabled.” Without consistent internet and devices, Bronx families face barriers to everything from remote work and schooling to civic participation.
