Stewarding resources to make critical investments in the Bronx is central to our mission. And we believe deeply that the only way to achieve that mission is by putting the voices of Bronxites first. I knew that this year presented an opportunity to create a larger blueprint for investment across the borough, with the voices of residents leading the charge. So that’s why we embarked on our first-ever borough-wide strategic planning process to drive this vision forward.
Over the course of the summer, we partnered with 15 key leaders and 18 impactful nonprofits to co-design and host over 20 community engagement sessions where residents were asked about their vision for the borough. We spoke to over 1,000 Bronxites about their hopes for the Bronx through exploring nine critical issue areas ––and their ideas, feedback, and solutions were nothing short of inspiring.
