We partnered with 15 key nonprofit leaders and 18 impactful nonprofits to co-design and host over 20 community engagement sessions where residents were asked about their vision for the borough. We spoke to over 1,000 Bronxites about their hopes for the Bronx, exploring nine critical issue areas – and their ideas, feedback, and solutions were nothing short of inspiring.
Each person at these events created their own “vision board” – a physical manifestation of their hopes for the future.
These conversations will directly inform The Bronx Community Foundation’s future financial investments and program priorities. Next, we will publish a “Blueprint for the Bronx” that will outline the most critical issues for the borough, identify community assets and investment needs, and lay out a pathway to drive transformational investment to address those issues. This blueprint will set the stage for a new phase of philanthropy that has never been done in Bronx and show how the foundation can most effectively use its resources for positive change.
